Who is affected?
From 1 January 2026, all VAT-registered businesses in Belgium must issue their B2B invoices via Peppol, whatever their turnover. Transactions with private individuals (B2C) are not yet affected, although electronic formats are recommended.
What about public contracts?
Businesses that work with the public sector (B2G) are already subject to it: since March 2024, public contracts over €3,000 must go through Peppol.
